PixelByPixel LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GotNext mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using GotNext, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Email address and password when you register for an account.

  • Profile Information: Username, avatar/profile picture, and any optional profile details you choose to provide.

  • Game Information: Details about games you host (sport type, location, date/time, game mode, player limits, descriptions).

  • Chat Messages: Messages you send through the in-game chat feature to communicate with other registered players.

  • Payment Information: Payment details when you subscribe to Pro or pay game fees (processed by third-party payment processors; we do not store full payment card details).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: With your permission, the App uses precise geolocation to show nearby games and enable check-ins. This location data lives on your device; we do not collect or store this data on our servers.

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

  • Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, time spent in the App, games joined/hosted, and interaction patterns.

  • Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens to deliver push notifications about game updates, chat messages, and other alerts (with your permission).

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third-party services you use to sign in (such as Google or Apple sign-in), limited to the information you authorize those services to share with us.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features.

  • Create and manage your account, profile, and game history.

  • Display nearby games on the map and enable location-based game discovery.

  • Facilitate game registration, team sorting, queue management, and check-in.

  • Calculate and display your Rating Score (RS), XP, level, league tier, streaks, and achievements.

  • Process payments for Pro subscriptions and game fees.

  • Send push notifications about game updates, chat messages, check-in reminders, and other relevant alerts.

  • Populate leaderboards and ranking features.

  • Monitor and analyze usage trends and improve the App's features and performance.

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.

  • Respond to your requests, questions, and provide customer support.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

  • Facilitate Connections: Use profile information to connect you with other players.

  • Improve Matching: Use game history to calculate statistics and improve player matching.+1

  • App Optimization: Use analytics to monitor usage trends and improve the App experience.

  • Communication: Send notifications regarding game updates, chat messages, and check-in reminders.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not currently sell your personal information. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out mechanism to ensure you are covered. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1 With Other Users

Certain information is visible to other users as part of the App's functionality, including your username, profile picture, league tier, RS scores, XP level, game participation history, and leaderboard rankings. Chat messages are visible to other players registered in the same game.

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the App, including:

  • Supabase: Cloud database and authentication services.

  • Payment Processors: To handle Pro subscriptions and game fee transactions.

  • Analytics Providers: To help us understand usage patterns and improve the App.

  • Cloud Hosting: For data storage and App infrastructure.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

3.4 Business Transfers

If PixelByPixel LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our Terms).

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Account Information

You may update or correct your account information at any time through your profile settings in the App. You may also request deletion of your account by contacting us.

6.2 Location Data

You can control whether the App accesses your location through your device's settings. Disabling location access may limit certain features such as map-based game discovery and proximity-based check-in.

6.3 Push Notifications

You can opt out of push notifications through your device's settings at any time. This may affect your ability to receive timely game updates and chat messages.

6.4 Communication Preferences

You may opt out of promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails. We may still send you transactional or service-related communications.

7. Children's Privacy

GotNext is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@pixelbypixel.dev.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

  • Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information. If this changes, we will provide a clear opt-out mechanism.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
